True shifts in movement and quality of life begin with patience and persistence

The fascial system is a continuous interconnected web. It is the only structure that touches every cell of the body. It also can exert a tensile strength on itself of up to 2000 pounds per square inch! This occurs when the ground substance (the liquidy gel all of these cells and structures sit within) solidifies due to injury, trauma, pain, and habitual postures/movement patterns. It does not respond to aggressive loading, or stretching for brief periods of time.

The key to healing is feeling through LOW LOAD, PROLONGED DURATION stretch lasting a minimum of 5 minutes. When this is accomplished your body responds with amazing benefits:

  • Mechanical changes in lines of tension (Less pain!)

  • Improved Range of motion (Better glide between activating muscles)

  • Improved Strength (Muscles aren’t busy bracing or stabilizing tension or imbalance and will test stronger)

  • Physiological Release of chemicals that increase blood flow, increase white blood cell activity, and act as anti-inflammatories (All promoting healing while reducing pain!)
