Rebounding, the third pillar of Myofascial Release, is about using the fluidity of the body as a therapeutic force

Since our bodies are mostly made of water and communicate through that water (H3O2) in the fascia through light energy, vibration, and sound, ensuring the hydration of that system is paramount to function. Rebounding allows you to find the natural rhythm of the fluid motion in your body with a gentle rocking or bouncing, and then begin crashing that fluidity against the restriction and tension you feel through persistent changes in direction and amplitude. The resulting chaos both in motion and in peizoelectric and fluid flow ‘overloads’ the body’s natural defensive bracing mechanisms. This allows us to sneak under those old patterns and feel into a new freedom of motion and body awareness.

In the videos below we divide self rebounding/jiggling into standing and sitting activities for those with the mobility to do so, and then a laying down version for individuals whose pain or standing tolerance doesn’t allow any other way to try this powerful tool of self correction.

IN THIS LESSON

Standing and Sitting Rebounding/ Jiggling

Learn to incorporate gentle bouncing motions into a body scan to detect regions of tension and strain. Then use the fluidity of the motion with changing patterns of amplitude and direction to undermine the holding patterns, reduce stiffness and pain, and feel your whole fascial system.

Rebounding in Supine

This will be the ideal method for individuals who are currently experiencing pain that prevents them from standing for long periods, or are balance impaired.
